SIGINT & ELINT

Row of analysts seated at screens displaying waveforms and signal data in a dimly lit operations centre — Cryptocurrency trading screens mirror how satellite SIGINT transforms intercepted signals into structured, actionable intelligence for analysts worldwide.

Satellite SIGINT: Intercept to Intelligence Flow

1
Collection satellite
Wide-area antenna intercepts radar and comms emissions
2
Encrypted downlink
Raw signal data relayed to ground station
3
ELINT processing
Emitter fingerprinting, geo-location, and classification
4
Intelligence product
Fused report delivered to command and analysts

A SIGINT satellite intercepts electronic emissions, downlinks encrypted data, and delivers geo-located intelligence reports to decision-makers.

Applications

7.5.1 Signal Interception — Collecting, geo-locating and characterising adversary radio-frequency emissions — military radars, communications links, telemetry and data-links — from a sovereign LEO constellation.
7.5.2 Communication Network Mapping — Cataloguing the physical and logical structure of adversary and third-party communication networks by passively surveying RF emissions from orbit.
7.5.3 Encrypted Traffic Analytics — Characterising encrypted communications by volume, timing, frequency, and emitter behaviour to derive intelligence without breaking the encryption itself.
7.5.4 Pattern-of-Life Intelligence — Building behavioural baselines for high-value targets — military units, installations, command nodes — by fusing persistent RF, AIS, and optical data collected across dozens of satellite passes.
7.5.5 Counter-Espionage SIGINT — Detecting, attributing and disrupting foreign intelligence collection operations by cueing on their characteristic RF emissions from low Earth orbit.
