EOS-04 / RISAT-1A All-weather, day and night.
A 1,710 kg C-band synthetic-aperture-radar spacecraft for agriculture, forestry, hydrology and disaster management — imaging through the cloud cover that defeats optical systems for half the year.

What we flew.
EOS-04 — also known as RISAT-1A — launched on 14 February 2022 aboard PSLV-C52 from Sriharikota. It is a C-band synthetic-aperture-radar spacecraft, sister to RISAT-2B, designed for all-weather, day-and-night imaging.
Where optical satellites go blind under cloud, EOS-04 sees through it. The mission supports agriculture, forestry, soil moisture, hydrology and flood mapping, with revisit cadences fast enough to support disaster response. SAR backscatter is the workhorse data product behind a great deal of monsoon-season decision-making in India.
Satellize supported integration and qualification of the SAR-related subsystems, alongside ISRO. Operational lifetime is around ten years on a sun-synchronous polar orbit at ~529 km.
